Setting up your Trezor wallet is a straightforward process. Follow these steps to get started:
Open your web browser and go to the official Trezor website at trezor.io/start.
Plug in your Trezor hardware wallet to your computer using the provided USB cable. Ensure your device is connected securely.
Depending on your operating system, you may need to install Trezor Bridge, which enables communication between your Trezor device and the Trezor Wallet interface. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.
On the Trezor Wallet interface, click "Create a New Wallet." Follow the prompts to choose a strong and unique PIN for your device. The PIN adds an additional layer of security, ensuring that even if someone gains physical access to your Trezor, they cannot access your funds without the PIN.
Your Trezor will generate a recovery seed, a sequence of words that can be used to recover your wallet in case your device is lost or stolen. Write down the seed on the provided recovery card and store it in a safe place. Never share your recovery seed with anyone and keep it offline.
To ensure you've correctly recorded your recovery seed, the Trezor device will ask you to confirm a few words from the list. This helps prevent errors in the seed backup process.
